Electrical properties

Vitriflon fabrics have excellent electrical properties, they maintain their unequaled dielectric characteristics, whether at high or low temperatures. The range of the dielectric rigidities goes between 250V and 1500V for each thousandth of inch (25.4 microns) of thickness depending on the type of fabric, according to the ASTM Short Time Method. The power factor is lower than 7 during all the range, reaching up to 100KC.

Vitriflon fabrics have excellent resistance to the electric arc. Their tenacity is such, that no carbonization is produced at the arc attack site if the arc is maintained. The surface resistivity has ohm/cm at a 100% relative humidity, and its resistivity is superior to ohm/cm even after having been immersed in water.

Tetraflon manufactures and designs belts for each specific application, continuous or with several types of overlaps and with different kinds of edge reinforcements, such as pins, eyelets, among others.
