Main characteristics:

  • Excellent resistance to wear and compression
  • Good thermal conductivity
  • Good coefficient of friction when combined with molybdenum disulfide or with graphite
  • Not good for electrical applications
  • Attacked by some chemicals

Main applications:

  • Dynamic seals where wear resistance is required under high compression, but when chemical resistance is not important (compression rings, bearing pads and hydraulic systems).
