Carbon

Main characteristics:

  • Excellent behavior under compression and wear resistance
  • Good thermal conductivity
  • Low permeability
  • It is one of the most inert fillers except in acid environments where glass fiber has better behavior
  • It becomes anti-static due to its carbon content
  • It is good under wet conditions

Main applications:

  • Widely used in seals where great wear resistance is required under high pressure (piston rings for unlubricated compressors, bearing pads)
