Carbon
Main characteristics:
- Excellent behavior under compression and wear resistance
- Good thermal conductivity
- Low permeability
- It is one of the most inert fillers except in acid environments where glass fiber has better behavior
- It becomes anti-static due to its carbon content
- It is good under wet conditions
Main applications:
- Widely used in seals where great wear resistance is required under high pressure (piston rings for unlubricated compressors, bearing pads)
