Glass fiber

Main characteristics:

  • Improves resistance to wear and compression
  • Improves PTFE resistance to friction in high and low temperatures
  • Excellent chemical stability, except with strong alkalis and hydrofluoric acid
  • Has better thermal conductivity and coefficient of friction when combined with molybdenum disulfide or with graphite
  • Has excellent electrical properties

Main applications:

  • It is the most usual filler for seals where there is rotation and alternation of movements (application for pneumatic and/or hydraulic use, bearing pads, piston rings, valve bearings and mechanical parts)
